Nudism Subreddit
Cancel Culture and Censorship in Naturist Spaces
The movie Naked as Created : The Pastor Jim Moore Story was released yesterday for digital rental and purchase on Amazon Prime and on DVD and Blu-ray. Since I have a major role in the movie, one of the lead antagonists, I posted about the movie all over social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky, Truth Social, etc. I also posted (or tried to post) about it on Reddit, specifically in the r/Nudism subreddit since there are over 120,000 accounts subscribed to it.
My post about the movie did not violate any of the fifteen rules as stated on the Nudism subreddit home page. I included pricing information and a link to the movie’s page on Amazon. In the two or three minutes the post was active on the subreddit, it had four upvotes (besides the one that any Reddit post starts with) and 243 views.
As you can see, the post was removed by the censors, I mean moderators, of r/Nudism. The movie, by all objective standards, depicts family friendly, non-sexual nudism. It is a Christian faith-based film, but it is also a nudist film made by actual nudists. It stars myself, the President of the Southwest Region of AANR. Cyndi Tendick, who at the time of filming was the President of the West Region of AANR, has a speaking role. Cynthia Holbach, the current President/Chair of The Naturist Society Foundation, and her husband Rolf Holbach, the current President of the Southern California Naturist Association, both play parts in the movie. Patty Faber, who is the current Vice President of AANR, can be seen in an office scene. The movie won a mainstream award (the Film Threat Magazine’s Award This! Indie Made for Less Than the Contents of an Oscar Gift Bag (Under $100K). The film’s IMDB page lists 43 cast members, 13 producers, and many more crew members. The movie should be of interest to all naturists and especially Christian naturists.
Despite being of interest to naturists and not breaking any of the subreddit’s fifteen stated rules, the post was removed because of the moderators’ disdain of one individual, not because of any objective judgment of the film itself.
This article is not meant as a defense of the individual in question. I don’t know or care about the details of their animosity toward this individual, but I do suspect it has to do with disagreement about this individual’s political beliefs that then sparked an intense investigation into anything and everything this person has ever posted or commented on.
There are naturists from all walks of life. There are conservative naturists, liberal naturists, libertarian naturists, communist naturists, Christian naturists, atheist naturists, etc., etc. It’s a big tent. But a select few individuals are taking it upon themselves to be the thought police for anyone that ventures into their realm, the r/nudism subreddit. They insist that the presence of one person on a cast and crew of dozens and dozens of people should invalidate all our hard work and the art that has resulted from it.
Naturism is already viewed as suspect by a large section of the general public. This in-fighting among naturists, of which this censorship of naturist filmmaking is just one example, is not helping us make any headway into the promotion of what we have found to be a comfortable and worthwhile practice, living clothes free as often as possible. The gatekeepers of r/Nudism are doing a disservice to the 120,000 accounts following it and to naturism in general.

I left a few comments on their page and got permanently banned from commenting on anything.
Sad state of affairs! Really want to support but it’s impossible to watch in the EU. Amazon Prime doesn’t offer it nor any Amazon stores. UK yes but they don’t allow for EU accounts to view it or buy :(
